Sharing the Music

It all started with Guitar Hero. My brother and I got Guitar Hero as a Hanukkah present in 2007. I became obsessed with it--just ask my mom--and I decided I wanted to take guitar lessons. My teacher, Robert, has worked with me for almost 2 years and he says I'm really good. My mom says he probably says that about all his students, but I LOVE playing guitar. (NOTE FROM MOM: That was just a little joke--he IS really good!) Last year, in 6th grade, I also started playing the alto sax in Band and Jazz Band at school. I really like playing the sax, too.

My bar mitzvah is coming up next February, and I have been thinking about what to do as a mitzvah project. A mitzvah project involves doing something good (a mitzvah) for others. I have decided to share my love of music with children who may not be able to afford an instrument. I know that many people have instruments around their homes that no one is using--and I would like to collect these and donate them to needy children. We are still working on finding an organization or organizations to donate the instruments to but will let you know as soon as they are selected. So, please, if you have ANY musical instruments--even if they need to be tuned or restrung--contact me at Zackapalooza1@yahoo.com or just call my mom--and we will come pick them up. I will be posting more information and some music as we go on.....
